I have been around dogs all my life and have owned a variety of types, including Rough Collie, German Shepherd, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and various cross breeds.

I currently own 2 dogs:

Jiffy - a 7 year old Border Collie male
Posie - a 3 year old Border Collie female Posie and Jiffy

For 14 years I worked at a local animal sanctuary caring for, rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted and abandoned animals.

During this time I gained extensive experience in handling and caring for all ages, sizes and types of dogs.

My Animal Care qualifications:

* NVQ Level 2 - Caring For Animals

* NVQ Level 3 - Animal Welfare and Management

* BTECH HND (Level 5) - Animal Management

* Assistant Dog Trainer at a local club for 10 years

* Club and Show Secretary of local competitive Obedience Club (organizing and running an open and a championship obedience show every August since 2014)

I started attending a local training club with my rescue collie puppy Brecon in March 2003, as I wanted to take part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme. I was asked to help out at the club, initially making the teas but soon progressing to helping with the training too.

I was Assistant Trainer at the club for 10 years, helping owners train their dogs to gain their awards at all 4 levels - Puppy Foundation all the way to Gold Standard.

I started taking part in Dog Obedience competitions in May 2005 and have competed regularly ever since.

I first competed with Arnie (a rescue German Shepherd cross Collie) who won over 50 rosettes, a Beginner class and qualified Beginner Excellent before he retired in 2011.

Luka (a German Shepherd cross Collie) was my second obedience dog and he won his way through the classes, going from Beginners to Class C only with a qualifier for the championship class. We competed twice at Crufts as a member of the Midlands Team in the Inter Regional Obedience Competition. In 2012 we were 2nd in the Beginner class and in 2013 we were 4th in the Novice class, with the Midlands Team coming 2nd in the overall competition. Luka retired in December 2018.

I am currently competing with Jiffy and Posie. Jiffy started competing in 2015, has won his way through the classes and is now Class C only with one of the 4 required qualifiers for Championship Class C under his belt.

Posie attended her first show in July 2021 and had a successful first year winning 2 Novice classes, 2 Class A's and 2 Class B's.
