Dog Training

I think it is extremely important that owners are able to control their dogs in public, as there is a lot of negative publicity surrounding dog ownership at the moment.
A well mannered and sociable dog is a pleasure to own and I think that attending training classes can go a long way to achieving this.
I do not aim to train your dog for you, after all it’s your dog and needs to do what you ask of it!
I aim to train owners, with methods and techniques that suit them and their dog, which will enable them to train their dog and get what they require from it.
I hold 2 classes on a Wednesday evening:
1) Puppy/Beginners
This first class teaches the foundation exercises needed for a well behaved pet. Your dog will learn -
* Walking on the lead (without pulling) and ignoring distractions
* Short sit stay
* Short down stay
* Recall to the front of handler
* Off lead fun recall
* Handling for health examination and grooming
* Good manners around food and toys
I also discuss and offer advice on other important aspects of owning and caring for a dog, such as legal identification, leads,collars, diet, neutering and exercise.
2) Intermediate and Advanced
This class builds on the foundation training and teaches your dog more advanced exercises such as
* Recall to handlers side
* Off lead walking under control
* Send away (going to a bed)
* Instant stop on command
* Longer sit and down stays
* Good manners in and around the car
